Blog Discussion
Read Chemical Exposure Linked to Attention Deficit Disorder in Children and post a comment on this blog as part of a discussion on how this article relates to what we have learned in psychology. What is your opinion on the findings? I would like to get a good discussion going. Comments need to be posted by Friday, 02/12 for both periods for a grade. Chapter 9 Essay Questions
Please answer the following questions, handwritten, in a minimum of 1-2 paragraphs for each. Due Friday, 02/05 (P.3) & Monday, 02/08 (P.6)
1. Can you think of areas of our society, other than education, the workplace, and clinical settings that have been affected by the use of psychological tests? Have psychological tests led to improvement in these areas?
2. In what ways have changing views about the influence of heredity and environment on intelligence affected the development of intelligence tests?
3. Discuss the similarities and differences between current views on the nature and assessment of intelligence and creativity.
4. Most cases of mental retardation have no identifiable organic cause. From what you know of their views concerning intelligence, discuss what each of the following might say about these cases of mental retardation: Jensen, Wechsler, Gardner, and Scarr.
